Fall Best of the Midwest (BOMW) Tournament

Yes, Friday afternoon at rush hour finds us driving to Plainfield to play soccer. I'm not sure which was worse though, that one or the 7:30AM Sunday morning game! Anyway, it was an action packed weekend of soccer. We opened up very strong with a goal in the first 2 minutes of our first game. The competition, however, was tough, and we didn't make the finals. But we still had fun (unless you're trying to take pictures - then the lighting and distracting backgrounds make for an interesting adventure).

Opening goal - I was almost sleeping on this - just barely got the ball in the frame.

Gotta celebrate that! That was an awesome start!

An example of the tough lighting - the sun low on the

horizon makes for some big shadows.

On the other hand, the lighting can be cool when

it hits straight on (the girls didn't always seem to be

mindful of this, choosing instead to play soccer).

A visit with a former teammate who was in town for her

sister's team playing in the BOMW.

Coach "doin' the Robot?" (actually, he was explaining

something and demonstrating.)

That was Friday's game.

We missed Saturday's (soccer actually gave

way to other plans...can you believe it :-) ).

Then we left at oh-dark-hundred to make our

7:30AM Sunday game.

The sun was (barely) up & just breaking thru

some thin clouds, so the lighting was cool at

times. I thought that the uniform color

contrast was also visually interesting. But

enough about that...back to soccer.

Coach looks like he's dressing like Tiger Woods,

doesn't he? Maybe it's just the hat.
